Testimonials from our grateful patients.
A year ago, NYGH staffer Samia Touma could barely walk. Now she's back in the game after having both hips replaced by orthopaedic surgeons at the Hospital.
Nine years ago, I was in tremendous pain in with my two knees. I could not walk, so I could not travel and ski and had to take a cart to play golf. After meeting with Dr. Maurice Bent, we came to an agreement that knee replacement was the solution to my problem. It has been nine years and I am skiing more than 100 days a season and walking the golf course five days a week. Believe me I am living a second life. Dr. Bent and the personnel of North York General were part of this new adventure and I am very grateful.
I had bi-lateral knee replacement surgery performed by Dr. Maurice Bent at NYGH in June of 2012. A combination of sports injuries and arthritis had damaged both knees. At the age of 50, I struggled to walk with a pronounced bow legged gate. I was about to be removed from duty as a Toronto Firefighter. Following surgery and about three months of physiotherapy, I was able to return to work with no restrictions on my duties. I have since resumed skiing with my family and enjoy long pain free walks with my golden retriever. I would like to say “thanks” to Dr. Bent and to the staff at North York General.
